If you wish to have an active holiday, there are plenty of options to choose from: guided tours in the Highlands, sightseeing flights from Oban Airport, sea tours and exploring the neighbouring islands. You can choose from a day trip to closer islands or a multi-day escape to more distant islands. With direct Caledonian MacBrayne Ferries to Kerrera, Lismore, Mull and Iona, Barra, Colonsay, Coll and Tiree or local nautical tour operators who offer unique excursions to experience the Scottish wildlife and stunning views, you can plan your active holiday ahead of time or just make an ad hoc decision on the day.

If you prefer to keep your feet on the ground, we have stunning mountains and hills (including Corbetts and Munros) right on Oban's doorstep! Within a 30-minute drive, you can reach places where you will feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. The world famous Glencoe is less than an hour away by car.

However, if you need a quiet, relaxing stay, Oban offers great restaurants, pubs and local walking paths such as McCaig's Tower (0.8 km) and Pulpit Hill (1.2 km), which offer panoramic views of Oban Bay and the surrounding countryside islands. Guests can also reach the grounds of Dunollie Castle (1.6 km) via the Corran Esplanade.
